TRANSITION is a UK wide Clean Air Network led by the University of Birmingham in collaboration with nine universities and over 20 cross-sector partners which seeks to optimise the air quality and health outcomes of transport decarbonisation.

Our next webinar will focus on barriers to achieving best practice for active travel initiatives in local authorities and devolved administrations. We will explore these issues in context of the recent launch of new executive agency Active Travel England which will inspect and publish reports on highway authorities for their performance on active travel. We will also consider the role of devolution in achieving these ambitions in city regions, including responsibilities of Cycling & Walking Commissioners. The TRANSITION Clean Air Network is currently preparing a Briefing Note on this topic.

We are pleased to welcome a diverse range of panellists to share their own insights:

Adam Tranter | Cycling & Walking Commissioner | West Midlands Combined Authority
Amanda Craswell | Health and Wellbeing Programme Manager (Healthy Places) North East and Yorkshire Region | Office for Health Improvement and Disparities
Angela Hands | Public Health Programme Manager, Healthy Places and Communities | Office of Health Improvement and Disparities
Mark Strong | Managing Consultant | Transport Initiatives
